    Hi All,
I'm back from the Evolution18 and already implementing few improvements in our environment.
I'm playing around with the Config.xml MigApp.xml and MigUser.xml in order to get all the basic settings migrated.
I have spoke with some of you at the conference but I forgot the names :-)
I was wondering is anyone of you would be able to share their configuration files specially if they result on a very small and lean MIG file.
    Thank you again,
    Regards,
    ANdrea

    Hello,

I cannot claim our XML is the most optimized.  We use the default MigApp.XML, but I have gone through an added Excludes for the .PST Files.    This is a major space saver as PSTs are huge.   This is a change in one of the more recent revisions of USMT, as the older versions did not include all PST files by default.  I guess there were complains people were losing data because end users like to put PST files in weird directories.

The second thing we do is exclude extra accounts.   For the ScanState options we exclude all the built in computer and System Accounts that typically don't need to be backed up.   If you use a special naming convention for service or admin accounts, you can also included them in this place so that those profiles are not included.   /UE:%computername%\* /ue:IIS*\*

My test migrations have been between 160 and 199MB.   Not the most slim but not several gb.
