USMT migration using loadstate and CrashPlan

  • 1.  USMT migration using loadstate and CrashPlan

    Posted 09-27-2017 16:55
    I'm attempting to migrate a user to a new computer using USMT loadstate command.

    the command I'm using for loadstate is;

    loadstate c:\Program Files\Crashplan\USMT /config:config.xml /i:migdocs.xml /i:migapp.xml /v:13 /l:load.log

    The config.xml file does exist in the path indicated, along with the migdocs.xml and migapp.xml.

    This is the contents of the load.log file

    As an FYI, @Clifford Goeke and cohorts, the file size limit is 1GB, so no worries there.

    3 Starts for Cliff, between the xml files and the video I think I might have my setup working.  Now on to test a few restores this weekend!

    I didn't find the answer to the USMT issue.  But I did find how CrashPlan uses the USMT backup.
    I don't know if I missed the menu item before but selecting the replace device option when starting CrashPlan for the first time works.
    See the video in the link below.
