Having Centralized Logs on Code42 Portal

    We have many clients on Code42 using the on-line version.

    We don't believe there's an on-line centralized log of each computer.

    Is this correct?

    Do others have the need for this?

    We have clients all over the world, and it's painful to have to log into each computer and check logs, rather than a centralized database of logs.

    Does anyone know if this is forthcoming from Code42?

    Yes, this is a pain point for me. When we were on-premise we could see logs that were forwarded from the client to the server, but that does not appear to be an option any longer, and could've been useful in troubleshooting some recent issues that have been reported to me.

    If there's a uservoice or other place that we can upvote feature requests, I'm all for contributing to that!

    We've been Code42 Cloud Customers for more than a year, and this was one of our first requests.  We were told it was a difficult request to fulfill - and as we haven't seen the feature yet, I can believe it.

    As a workaround, we've added the Code42 log directory to the default backup settings - but that sometimes results in a backup failing to complete because the Code42 app can't backup what it has open for write...

    Hi all,

    Thank you for your question - great topic!  The ability for administrators to pull client logs through the administrative console for devices that are online is functionality that many organizations find valuable, especially during troubleshooting.  That functionality is currently available for deployments with on-premises authorities.

    I am pleased to let you know that the ability to pull the client logs in a similar manner for organizations that are fully hosted is coming and is currently under development.  We are targeting to release this prior to the end of 2019.  Keep an eye out for our release notes as well as our quarterly product calls for the latest updates and announcements of features and functionality!
